Meet our Faculty
CCSArts offers a superb faculty of professionals. Many of our instructors have advanced music degrees from institutions such as the Westminster Choir College, the New England Conservatory of Music, Connecticut College, and University of Connecticut. Our faculty perform with notable ensembles such as the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, Salt Marsh Opera, The New Haven Symphony, The Rhode Island Philharmonic and The Providence Mandolin Orchestra among many others. Many of our faculty members hold notable cultural positions and direct musical events in New England. Our highly qualified instructors enjoy teaching students of all ages and abilities.

Jesse Nathan Glaude is a summa cum laude graduate of the Westminster Choir College, where he studied sacred music, choral conducting, organ and harpsichord. Among the honors garnered there, he was named an Andrew J. Rider Scholar for distinguished academic achievement, was elected to membership in the National Music Honor Society Pi Kappa Lambda, and was organ scholar at the prestigious Nassau Presbyterian Church. His primary professors included Mark A. Anderson (organ), Gerard Farrell (Gregorian chant), Robin Leaver (sacred music), Robert Carwithen (improvisation), James Jordan and Andrew Megill (choral conducting). He continued his training at the Princeton Early Keyboard Center , under the tutelage of harpsichordist and recording artist Gavin Black. Mr. Glaude has been Director of Music at the historic Christ Episcopal Church in downtown Norwich, Connecticut , since 2005. He is founder and Executive Director of the Christ Church School of the Arts and of the Chamber Music at Christ Church series, each created to enrich the artistic life of the community through both professional instruction and performance. In 2008 he designed and oversaw the installation of Christ Church 's new sanctuary organ - a landmark Rodgers instrument of three manuals and 130 speaking stops. He is Dean of the New London County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and chairs the Guild’s committee for New Organist Development – which annually awards the Roberta Bitgood Scholarship to young musicians seeking a career in the field.

Sylvie Harris is a graduate of the New England
Conservatory in Guitar Performance and is currently in the Master's of Music Business program at Berklee College of Music. Sylvie has studied in masterclass with some of the world's leading guitarists. She performs regularly throughout New England in solo and chamber music settings. Sylvie is a guitarist with the Providence Mandolin Orchestra, one of America's leading Mandolin and Guitar Ensembles . Sylvie teaches all styles of guitar including classical, acoustic and electric. Her students have received scholarships at the New England Conservatory of Music, The Manhattan School of Music, and the Hartt School of Music amongst others. Sylvie enjoys teaching all ages: young children utilizing special programs for small hands, teens, and adults.

Nancy Allen-Ziemski is a graduate from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors and a
Masters Degree in Music Performance. She has studied with Dr. Thedore Arm(violin and chamber music), Peter Sacco(violin), Stephan Teiszen(violin) and MaryLou Rylands(Chamber music). She is a member of the Eastern Ct Symphony Orchestra (3rd chair, 1st violin)in New London CT and plays regularly with Opera Theater of CT and Salt Marsh Opera. She has also performed with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, and other various ensembles. Until the removal of the instrumental music program for the elementary schools, Nancy worked for 4 years teaching strings to grades 4 - 6. Currently, she is teaching strings to K - 8th grade at the Integrated Day Charter School in Norwich , where she has been since the 2001-2002 school year.

Kristin Leitterman graduated magna cum laude from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she studied oboe and voice. While there she was a member of the Midwest Double Reed Society, where she placed first in the Young Artist Competition. She was also an officer in the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference and placed second in a National Association of Teachers of Singing competition. She continued her studies at New England Conservatory, where she recently graduated, and is now currently working on an Artist Diploma at The Hartt School with the renowned oboe soloist Humbert Lucarelli. While at New England Conservatory she was a member of a Renaissance Choir committed to bringing music and discussion to the general public and into classrooms. With nearly a decade of teaching experience ranging from woodwinds to voice, she enjoys bringing the joy of music to her students while teaching them the discipline that accompanies it.
Phred Mileski is a graduate of Connecticut College and has sung throughout the United States as well as in Canada and Europe. As she is equally at home with both popular and classical musical genres, her extensive performance experience includes opera, jazz, cabaret, oratorio, and musical theater. She has premiered several works by still-living composers and has recorded several CDs to date with Archangel Voices, an internationally acclaimed small choir that specializes in Orthodox liturgical music. Ms. Mileski has served several New England churches as a soloist and is currently the principal soloist at St. John's Church in Essex, CT as well as a cantor at St. Patrick's Church in Mystic, CT.
Matt Melone recently completed a 30 year career with the United States Coast Guard Band. During that time he performed in 47 states, Russia, England, Japan, and took part in eight Presidential Inaugurals. In addition to the Band's usual travel, between 2004 and 2008 he traveled over 29,000 miles as leader of the Coast Guard Band Brass Quintet performing recitals and many high level ceremonies including First Honors for President George W. Bush in 2005. Especially notable are performances at Carnegie Hall, with the New York Philharmonic, the Hartford Symphony, performances with Placido Domingo, Lorrie Morgan, Marilyn Horne, The Gatlin Brothers, Lonestar, Shirley Jones, and with conductors Leonard Slatkin, Skitch Henderson, and John Paynter. Matt is currently Assistant Principal Horn with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with many local ensembles including the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, Meriden Symphony Orchestra, Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, and Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. In 1975, Matt earned a Bachelor degree in Music Education from the University of Rhode Island. He began his French horn studies with Russell LeBer and Katheryn Hunt, both members of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, and continued with Thomas Newell of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In addition to being the first person to solo with the U.S. Coast Guard Band on a garden hose, and his freelance musical pursuits, Matt maintains websites for various groups and tries to play as often as he can with his three year old granddaughter, Adrienne. His most recent accomplishment is earning a private pilot’s license.
